It helps if you explicitly identify your truck. Can't provide specific recommendations without knowing what's involved. Could be a blown fuse, bad switch or indicator, a damaged wire harness, or the PCM.
Something must have went screwy because now the overdrive button does not indicate "off" when pressing the shift level overdrive button.
Check the fuse for the overdrive. It will be identified in the owner's manual. If it's blown then you may have a short in the wire from the switch. There's some videos out showing this problem and the fix.
There's nothing in or near the underhood fusebox that has anything to do with this issue. It's a coincidence, most likely.
The fuse for that circuit is F29 under the dash. Check it first although if blown there may be other symptoms. Autolamp, if equipped, is also on that circuit.
If the fuse is okay, pull the column shrouds and inspect the little harness that comes out of the shifter tube looking for any evidence of wire damage.
After that, it gets harder as you have to do actual troubleshooting.
This is a video showing a fix for the OD not working. It's not for your specific vehicle and I'm not saying this is your problem but it is worth a check.
The shift lever has wires that break around 100 K miles with normal use (way sooner on a plow truck or work truck)
A scan tool can tell you real quick if the switch or wiring has failed
I keep one new lever in my toolbox and a new switch
