Hey guys, I normally hang out at the 48-56 forum but I need some help. I am getting a 55 F600 for the Ford Script bed. It is in great shape but it is missing the "rear stake rack lock." This is designed to lock in the rear stakes so they don't bounce out when going over a bump.
So if anyone one here has a Ford flatbed that has the piece and you were not planning on using the bed cause it is too far gone or whatever, I would be interested in buying this stake lock. It looks like this on the 61 to 79 Ford flatbeds, I think:
This piece was on the 1953 to 1960 Ford Script beds, like these:
I know it is a long shot but worth the try. Let me know how much plus shipping, Thanks!
Abe, are you missing the whole unit or just the rod? There is a bracket that is welded on the inside that holds the rod. It can be fabbed if you're good. I`ll look mine over this weekend and see how much is involved to make the whole unit. After looking at your picture I can see yours is missing I forgot there riveted on still may not be that hard to make one. Garry

Thanks Gcat. If you can take a pic of the backside. And no hurry. I don't even have the truck home yet!
The first picture is my old 70 F350 I sold to buy my 55 F350. It looks like the bracket is held on by 2 bolts.
My son and I have both have 64 tonners and I`ll look tomorrow. It's been cold up here by lake Erie with 4 inches of snow. I haven't even looked at my 56 F100 for a year,
So was this lock an option. My brother had a script bed on his F250 years ago, not sure what it came off of but it did not have the lock and doing a google search i can find a lot of beds without locks.

Not an option. F100 and F250 flatbeds did not have the lock. Only the 9' and 12' beds on the F350, F500 and F600 trucks had the lock.
