What’s that sound?
To go with my radiator replacement post, here are 2 videos hopefully of the noise the truck was making on the drive home. One is much more pronounced than the other. When at interstate speed i didn’t see any smoke but if I let off slowing down then tried to accelerate I got a ton of smoke. If I was sitting still I was dumping smoke. During the day it looked grayish, at night I couldn’t tell.

Sorry, a CSV file of the log FORScan captures when running. After you take a drive where the noise occurs, you can stop the rig, stop FORScan recording, and choose "Save to CSV". You can use that file in the PID charting tool to view engine parameters offline, and post the CSV file here for us to take a look.

Still working on getting access to everything. Can without a doubt say radiator is bad though, couple inch long split in the tank. Inside valve covers were chocolate shake looking on the covers but nothing like that on the heads. Drivers side looks fine, atleast nothing broken up top. Just for grins I drained a little bit out of the oil pan and don’t think I got anything but oil out. So does this sound like a head gasket issue or something else? When I get the radiator I’ll pressure test the cooling system and go from there. Just trying to get prepared for what I might have to do.

Got the radiator installed and filled with water just to test. Pressurized to 14lbs or so and didn’t see or hear any leaks from anywhere other than the tester. Pulled my glowplugs and pressurized again with the same results. So I put some paper towels in-line with the glowplug bore and some more laying in the head, put the valve covers back on and turned the engine over with a ratchet. Got one squirt of water/antifreeze and that was it.
Is there anything else I should take a good look at before calling it and putting everything back together? Really hoping it was just a case of antifreeze sprayed into my filter and got sucked into the engine. I’ll be draining the pan anyways since I’m close to due for an oil change.
