Towing connector lights
I have a 21 f450. First time I connected my boat and trailer,,,lights and dash information was super helpful. Subsequent connection a week later,,,nothing,,,only when I hit the unlock on the fob that the lights come on, then go off after I start the truck. Local dealer says they can't see me for 5 weeks. Has anyone had this problem???

My truck has to be put in gear for everything to work (or maybe driver in cab, fob in pocket, door closed) I forget. Clicking the fob just blinks the lights like the truck does, but that is a great indication you are working correctly. Go double check with a friend

zilch. I have nothing when I put it in gear. No flashers, no brakes, no running lights. But, the very first time it worked great. And now they only come on when I hit the unlock on the fob

Does your owner’s manual cover what the brake controller needs to see the trailer? On the newer trucks this has gotten crazy. I am thinking this is something simple. I am out of my element on boat trailers.

I have read reports that the connector pins don't make good contact and people are using this to correct it.

Sometimes a contact enhancer is helpful, although in this case his trailer lights will flash with his fob, which suggests contact. There must be some folks on here with boats that could chime in if they had to do anything special because it is a boat trailer. My eyes kind of cross when I think about electrics getting dunked.
