Hadn't looked at it before, and it's a little bit of an uneasy feeling...
Scheduled my truck payment just now at Ford credit, and there is a link to the owner.ford.com site and I clicked on it.
Scrolling through the page and come down to the "Your Vehicle" section, and there is a block that says "Current Mileage", and in that block it shows: "35279 MI LAST UPDATE 03/07/22 AT 02:03 PM CST" which is exactly when I pulled in my driveway and shut the truck off.
And, in the next block on the page, it shows the tire TPMS readings for that time too.
I guess I knew this kind of stuff happened, but just hadn't seen it before, kind of creepy, and a little worrisome.
I ordered an XL STX to have as little connectivity and driver’s “aid” as possible.
I work in an industry that is very IT heavy and I have enough connectivity as it is with my phones and laptops, I don’t need my truck to be uploading live data to people I don’t know. My current daily driver is a mid-2000s panther body and I can still maintain my own follow distance and stay in my own lane, and I haven’t needed any drivers assistance on the previous 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks.
dont get me wrong, y’all are free to have as much computer monitoring and assist as you want, have at it, I just would like another few years where my car is just a car.
Don't worry, it will stop doing all that when the cellular companies turn off the 4G network.
I own a C-Max that allowed all of that to be viewed up until last month. Did not bother me a bit. Actually enjoyed there were some times when the keys were with the teen driver I could open the app and see where the car was parked. Most times I had a concern it was in the school parking lot, although I did find a few 2-4 mile round trips in the middle of the school day (That's how I learned on certain days they allow Seniors to leave campus for lunch).
Don't think of it as big brother watching you, think of it as data far SWMBO to watch you.
As soon as I learned about it years ago, I immediately went out to check my truck. Luckily, my truck doesn't have the equipment in it. Also, since replacing the factory head unit with an aftermarket one, the satellite antenna has been unhooked too (not that I think it transmitted anything...but ya never know).
You can't 100% stop big brother from tracking you...but I damn sure ain't gonna make it easy for 'em!
Big brother is tracking you always.....now you just have the information available to you. Every single traffic light that has cameras is recording license plates that roll through it. Its no secret what they're doing.
On the one hand you can’t stop big brother tracking you ( that phone everyone has in their pocket being the biggest example ) but want I do mind is the companies selling info they’ve generated off of me, so I do try and limit it where possible.

And that STX will still have the cell connection like the OP's truck has, guy sitting next to me at work has a STX, no remote start on his truck, but it will remote start with the fordpass app so its 100% connected to big brothers info hub just like any other 2022 F250 out there.
