All the felt wipe channels on mine are totally shot or gone. Is it worth rebuilding them or better off just getting a whole kit and replace everything?? What have most of you done? Dean

When I rebuilt my division bar felt in my 54 in 1999 I could buy the division bar straight stock with felt and the little stainless edging. Then I riveted it to my old and repainted part of the bar you see above the window. When it was time to fix my 55 bars none of the usual places, carpenter, Mid Fifty, Mid West, etc sold that stuff. All I could buy was a total new SHINY STAINLESS division bar. My trucks are Standard Cabs and I want to keep the bars black. I found Restoration Specialties in Windber, PA. There I could buy the rigid piece of division bar with fuzzies inside. You rivet your old part of the bar to this rigid piece.
*** Beware! Order a few inches more than you need. You have to cut and bend the top part to screw it into the top of the door.... Don't ask me how I know!
Also, I believe 56 trucks did not have any stainless division bars, only black. So you might want to go this route instead of buying the whole shiny bar. I bought the bendable window channel for the back and topof the door there too. However, it doesent have the little pimples thata push into the holes in the door like original. Mid Fifty and others do have it like that... or ask first to be sure.
