I have a 03 Lariat 6.0 4x4 . It has a old set of 17 x8.5 bolt pattern is 8-170 ugly black rims on it. I found a set of factory takeoffs that are 17x 7.5 x40 mm rims and of course the rims don’t clear the calipers. I’m 285/75-17 tires. My question is if I buy a set of 2 inch hub centric spacers will that solve my problem?

wheels are not my specialty!

If you need 2" of spacers to clear, you need different wheels.

I personally would never use wheel spacers. Pushing wheels out with spacers or more positive offset just adds more stress to axles .

Agreed.

When Ford changed the offset from near 0mm to +40mm it screwed the "newer take off" option.
