If Ford can't build MY22's, does anybody - including Ford - think they can build MY23's?
I believe they can build 23s, they are going to be using all the same parts that the 21 F150 is using as far as interior and stuff goes. I have a 22 and hate to say this but the 22 is obsolete now. Ford isnt going to spend a boat load of money securing parts for a truck that will be completely new in 4 months. they are going to build what they can with what they have and thats about it i think!
I just ordered another 2022 F-350 yesterday the way I wanted it. All options available. I got the confirmation email today. My salesman did not give me an ETA on the truck and wouldn't even promise that it would be a 2022. I am in no hurry as I have my current 2022 for as long as I need it. I was able to order it with options that are currently not shown as "available" on the ford.com website.
They have Rams sitting on the lots here in Carlsbad CA……asking about 6K over MSRP. If you order one, its 6.5K off the MSRP. Weird how that works. Not sure how they are not short on supplies but Ford seems shorter as we have a F450 on order for months and a Bronco for over a year. I might put in an order for a Ram 3500 limited dually and see if it comes in before my F450.
El Cajon Ford is asking 10K over MSRP for SuperDuty's...You know the place, it's where Tony Gwynn (Mr. Padre) had the catch phrase "No Body beats El Cajon Ford".
Because if people will line up and put a deposit down for a year wait on a questionably constructed over priced truck......why not make them wait two years?

it’s not just Ford. My friend told me that she ordered a Tesla Model Y and they estimate November-December delivery.

I though Ford was trying to discourage that sort of thing by telling the dealers you do that we will stop sending you trucks ?
Thought I read that somewhere a week or two back, could be wrong ?
I read that also. Apparently, some dealers didn't get the memo or don't care. Supply and demand rules but that said I would never, ever buy a vehicle from them or recommend them. They earned a lifetime of bad reviews from me (to be fair, I would do that to any dealer that took this approach).
BTW, I followed up on a specific limited anti-matter blue that I test drove. It was beautiful. 90K for the truck and 10K dealer markup for just a hair under 100k.
I'm sure there are a lot of dealers that are upset with ford
they can probably see the writing on the wall for the dealer model going into the future with ford signaling it wants to do direct sales with electronic vehicles

Guess what, someone bought it.
100k, yikes. That’s enough to get you a power stroke crew cab for the weekend trips plus a gas single cab for the weekdays drive to the office.

I've bought a few trucks from them over the years. I went in last November and told them I was going to go with Grainger's 2% off invoice. Did they want to get "near" that number. Best they would do was offer MSRP on an order. No thanks! Went with the 4% off at Chatham's (before price increases) . Will be letting them do the maintenance though.

Most of not all of the ford dealers in the major metro areas in the state will be telling you msrp or hit the road. Some smaller outfits in San Joaquin or imperial valleys or the deserts might play ball with x pricing and such but anywhere near the coast it will be hard
I always wondered, when one orders at x plan or a/z plan, does ford take the hit on margins alone or does the dealer shoulder a part of the discount from their margin?
