if the newer mirrors fit does anyone have a part number and or a link where I can get them?
Thanks…..
No, the newer oem 2017+ Ford mirrors will not fit an older truck. There are aftermarket mirrors that have the correct mounting surface base with the newer mirror housings which work. I installed some aftermarket AERDM 2008-2016 style mirrors with the 2017+ style lighting on my F350 CC 4x4 several years ago and have been happy with them. I'm wanting to install the 2017+ style mirrors on the wife's 2wd Excursion when I can find some I'm happy with. I've seen some of the AERDM units come with the side spot monitoring symbol below the defrost symbol, and some not have them. Obviously that would be a harder option to get to work in our older trucks, and it just takes up real estate of the mirror.

Nice looking mirrors. I put their power fold mirrors on my 1998 Dodge Ram 3500 a few years ago and have been looking at their mirrors for my 2001 Excursion. Like yours but if I was going to spend the money would want the power fold option. Power Telescope doesn't really matter to me. Hard to find the Ford OEM Power Fold and power Telescope that will fit and work on the Excursion. Someone on this board had a detailed procedure for creating the wiring and installing I believe 2008 - 2012 Ford OEM mirrors on an Excursion. Lowest price I've seen for these mirrors is $800.

Took me about 2 years of daily/weekly searching to find a set of OEM mirrors (power fold and telescope), and I'm not 100% sure that one of them isn't broken and doesn't extend. I'll find out when I get around to putting them on. For me, it was worth the wait as I REALLY want the power telescope. Too many times I have to get out and push mine back in because I forgot to put them in after pulling a larger trailer. Laziness will make you do some weird stuff!
I got these plain Jane plug and play from 1A Auto. Good people to deal with. My first set didn’t fit, so they sent me these and told me to donate the wrong ones to an automotive school in my town, which I did.
Fit and finish is really good and all hardware is included. Price was very reasonable.

These mirrors look awesome and I can’t seem to find them other than in a f150.

Thanks, I don't think they are making them anymore as most aftermarket companies are producing the 17+ style with the slant top corner, which has the correct base for our older trucks. I would go to the AERDM website and contact them to see if they have any spares or could make up some. The units for the F150's may work, ask them. When AERDM started producing the 17+ style with the slant top corner, they didn't have the side spot monitor symbol below the defrost symbol...which would be a pain to make work in our older trucks...that just takes up real estate in the mirror surface. I went back to get a pair of those for the Excursion early on, but saw that extra symbol and decided not to.
Just noticed that's an old picture from when I installed them several years ago. I've since added newer 20+ extended length Superduty side steps and 04 18" wheels wrapped in 295/70/18 Mastercraft Courser CXT tires...

Very nice! Any pictures of how you mounted them? I have a set of the regular size SD boards ready to go on my X, after I fix rocker rust. My plan is to use riv nuts and run them in the flange of the rocker at the bottom outside in and inside out at the top of the bracket.

I used the existing holes in the truck to mount the 3 05+ mounts/hangers per side with 4 bolts instead of the 3 like came from the factory...the Excursion has 5 mounts per side from what I remember in looking at the wife's Excursion. Once I mounted the hangers, I laid the boards on them, made some adjustments, and clamped them in place. I then ran some self-tapping screws with washers up through the existing holes of the hanger mounts into the bottom of the boards...been rock solid...
Those look real nice! Appears that they angle upward, is the glass also angled or did they account for that when they built them so that the glass sits level?

They accounted for the angle with the glass mounting. While they look nice, and they are pricey, I wouldn't get these Boost (brand) again. I have had multiple issues in less than a month of buying them. Mine have the heaters on both top & bottom. It keeps blowing the 5A. I've tried multiple switches and yet it blows it rendering the power adjustment useless. I've also had to get replacement glass as the quality was bad and I would get squirmy images. OTOH, their Customer service has been helpful, though they are pathetically slow in their responses.
That stinks, always a hard pill to swallow paying a premium for something where corners may have been cut; sounds like a lot of the cost may be tied up in their R&D.
Has anyone attempted to modify a set of oem Ford mirrors? I’m assuming the mounting base is different than our older truck bolt pattern, but I’ve never been bested by a fab project yet!
