This weekend I plan to follow the procedure for checking valve clearances to see if suspicions are right about a damaged cam lobe. I haven't pulled the driver side VC, so there could be a surprise under there, but my dad and I both think the issue is on the passenger side. I can replace a cam, but if the problem is deeper with a bearing, I'll have to think about it. Time and space to work are an issue. I also have a 65 in the garage with the transmission sitting on a furniture dolley. Need to finish the rear seal replacement (6 cylinder) and put it back together.
I'm assuming that i'll be able to fix the problems (haha), so i'm headed to picknpull to see if they still have a 71 F250 in the yard. My windshield is cracked, so I'm hoping it's still there and in good shape for me to pull. If it's not crushed yet, it's time is coming soon. I was there about 3 weeks ago and they were setting a new row pretty close by.
