Honestly, why is everyone saying that the international #1807329C92 ICP is better than Fords #F6TZ9F838A ICP.
i have been reading about the International one being better than Fords.
on my online research, this is what i am coming across.
my main problem is the truck shutting off when using my CB radio.
seems like the ICP is the culprit. i did replace mine about three years ago with a OEM one from ford.
i know the T444E is basically the same motor.
my only guess is that because the T444E is a commercial motor that is more likely prone to higher
RF exposure from working in the field.
Maybe it has more shielding?
anyone have any info on a side by side comparison ?
I want to be sure before i shell out $234. for a OEM international ICP.
compared to the Ford $65 - $90 Icp.
well today i un plugged the icp.
truck still died when i keyed up the radio. i am really leaning to the DP Tuner.
i am going to pull it tomorrow and try, then try it again with the icp unplugged also.
if not i still have two cps's i can try. one black oem ford and one oem ford gray. these are the older ones. i have had them in my tool box for about 10 years.
i believe the first one cost me over $300 then the *******s lowered it to $25 when i got the other.
at that time they said they would refund the difference but i could not find the receipt
anyways, the radio and amp are run to the battery's.
radio and amp grounded to the frame. frame grounded to the body in two places with ground strapping.
i will also try adding a grounding strap to the ecu.
i also want to try these clip on ferrite rfi emi noise suppressors i ordered.
