They are building trucks with 5th wheel prep, but my theory is that they are not getting the 5th wheel prep parts in as fast as they need them, so they may be getting 4000 of them in a week, but building 8000 trucks per week, and I'd guess probably 75% of the trucks are ordered with it, so that mean they could only build 4000 of the 6000 that wanted the 5th wheel prep, so then 2000 trucks jump in front of ones wanting 5th wheel prep.
Then when you throw the allocation formula in there, who knows how that affects it.
I'm just glad I'm not the one in charge of trying to get parts in and coordinate/schedule the builds. That has to be a nightmare job with all the supply issues.

I ordered my 2022 Lariat Ultimate dually on 11/2, and I took delivery on 12/28.
Or in 2021:
Ordered 10/27/21. Received confirmation email within 3 hours. Received VIN and build date week the very next day. 11/29 build week was pushed back to the week of 12/6 and the truck was built on 12/11. In my driveway on 12/21.
i order my truck October 6th, 2023. And have heard nothing. I was hopeful of maybe a Christmas present. I suppose a lot of stuff has happened at Ford but that is behind us now.
