Well at least they kept it. Shows that some work or maintenance was done anyway.
Thanks
NOT SO FAST............FROM WHAT I HAVE READ THE TAG CAN B FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE & A DISHONEST PERSON MAYB TRYING TO SAY IT IS A BETTER AXLE WITH A DIFFERENT TAG FROM WHAT IS ACTUALLY UNDER THE TRUCK. OR IT MAYB THE ONE THAT IS ACTUALLY THERE. U SHOULD TEST IT BY SPINNING THE WHEELS.............
I will for sure. This is a one family truck. Father, then son, and now me.
It spent its entire life about 50 miles from me.
It was a ranch truck and we all have likely had some beef that it fed.
I know the family and (think anyway) that it’s all original.
GREAT..............I CANNOT BELIEVE PAINT FADED THAT MUCH.............U CAN C A LITTLE GREEN AROUND THE VIN TAG.............
ARE U GOING 2 FREQUENT THE SITE ?
I will frequent as best I can.
The area in Southern Alberta is a semi arid desert.
We average about 250 days of sun per year, 12” of moisture and -40 to +40 Celsius temps.
No real rust issues anywhere here.
On the color code 3, Ford listed it as "Light Green" for 1970.
On that rear end tag RTT was right. It says 3.25 ratio, non-locking, 9" ring gear. The 3 is under the bolt head. It is possible to be the truck's original axle tag. Your axle code 17 is a 3.25 ratio.
MY SOURCES state Code 3 is a special mix for RICH Women... Who ever mixed it named it........
Code 3 2 me does seem 2 b a special mix..........mayb with different names........
