The 70 Brochure also mentions Norway Green. maybe that's the same?
I think it is EXPLORER GREEN also, but..........I think what is important also is the numbers on the splotch I posted !!! I understand those tell how to mix the pigments...etc...etc... to get the green. It may also tell if it is EXPLORER green. I was joking earlier about the different names. Their probably is only one OFFICIAL name, just some painters over the years may have gotten the names mixed up. I do think this is a special order kolur'........some of the 1971 truck paint charts I saw, the number 3 was missing, & I also think I read is was a special mix !!!
so u may want to restore the special kolur'..........
On the color code 3, Ford listed it as "Light Green" for 1970.
@JEFFFAFA I know it's been said many times that ford brochures are using marketing colors and they sometimes don't match part and color codes...but do you have any reference for Norway Green? I am just curious if it's the light green that your reference says. It would have had to fade like whoa to go from Explorer to that light!
To answer your question, no. Looking at all the paint color names, all paint codes 64/72, Norway Green is not listed. And the plot thickens. This time I noticed Ford lists a paint part number for code 3 Light Green in Canada. No part number for American markets. The 5th digit in your Vin looks like "C" to my old eyes. Code C means your truck was built in Ontario Canada. I noticed you have a 2 digit D.S.O. number. American D.S.O. numbers were 4 digits. I assume (I know, I know) Canadian special orders only had a 2 digit D.S.O. number. Having a D.S.O. number means the truck was originally ordered with something or somethings not regular production. Which would explain a paint color hard to figure out. The part number M1J-3471 was a 40 oz. container of 1970 code 3 "Light Green" in Alkyd Enamel. It is possible that 1970 Light Green was real yellowish. You would have to find a spot the sun hasn't faded the paint. Like a door hinge pillar facing the fender. Take it to a local automotive paint store and have them scan it to buy new paint.

I SAW A COUPLE BRIGHT SPOTS BY THE TOP OF THE RADIATOR, & MORE FADED, LESSER BY THE DOOR TAG
I TRIED 2 COPY THE 1971 TRUCK PAINT CHART I FOUND BUT IT COPIED TO SMALL WHEN I TRIED TO POST IT HERE. IT IS A VERY IMPRESSIVE LOOKING CHART..........
JUST TO REITERATE, I SAW A COUPLE CHARTS THAT SKIPPED CODE 3 !!! THIS MAY B ANOTHER REASON FOR THE D.S.O. CODE, SPECIAL PAINT KOLUR' ( GREEN LIKE ME ).......
