Radius arm bushings

Curious if anyone else has had this issue. When I put my truck on the road I replaced both radius arm bushings. Problem is, the pass side keep breaking the plastic spacer when I drive the truck on a bumpy road. The drivers side hasn't had an issue once yet I'm on spacer 3 on the pass side. Has anyone else had this issue and if so did u find a fix? The big nut is properly torqued and I'm lubing the bushings before install. What could cause this? I had it aligned not long ago and nothing is bent underneath. Thanks

Plastic spacer?
Poly or rubber bushings?
Got pictures of this bushing?

The black plastic spacer in the one pic and the white one in the other is what keeps breaking.

For some reason I don't remember that?
I will have to check mine out.

On the bottom picture I believe the cupped washer is placed wrong on the assembly. If so maybe that's why?

Cupped washer towards the spring. Opposite side of the nut.

I would put rubber bushings in there and get rid of the poly. I personally think the poly is too stiff for that application.

It's strange that only the pass side is breaking though. The drivers is part of the same kit, both poly.

I ordered the energy suspension bushings for my 89 bronco but the spacer would not fit with the aftermarket lift brackets, they had a small lip on the nut side that seemed to act as a spacer, so I didnt use it. I believe my instructions told me to put the cupped washer on the nut side and flat towards the front of the truck.

Correct bushing orientation:

Some radius arms have a factory spacer collar at the front of the bushing, Mine did. If so, it needs to be removed or the bushings will overtighten. You will need to wire brush, sand, and really clean to see the collar. Then it can be knocked or cut off. The metal is fairly soft, so cutting with a chisel is pretty easy.

Here is where the collar would be. This is after removal. It's only about 3/8" wide.

1 of my trucks came with poly radius bushings and being they were still in good shape I kept them.
Because I had to rebuild the kingpin beams from my truck and the pivot bushings being bad I replaced them with poly also.

What type of pivot bushings you using with the poly radius bushings?
Could it be mixing and not matching is the cause?
When they break what happens play in the radius rod?

I used Energy Suspension Poly for the swing arms and Moog Rubber for the radius arms.

I was incorrect once I looked, sorry about that. The spacer/collar I was talking about is the black in the middle of the bushing. it is part of my drop bracket

You may have to use rubber radius arm bushings. Your drop bracket is lots thicker than stock, and you can see how much the poly bushing is squeezed out of shape from tightening. There could be so much pressure the spacer can't take the strain, where rubber bushings will flex more and put less strain on the spacer.
