cab mount question

I'm getting ready to replace the cab mounts and floor pans in my '75 F150. The drivers side floor and cab mount are gone and the cab has dropped. Passenger side is solid but starting to go. I have a question about the actual metal cab mount welded to the floor.
I have seen three replacements:
The first is "bolt on" and has sharp angles. Looks almost like a box with two sides.
The second is "weld on" and looks like the original except this one is one stamped piece of sheet metal. Sells for about $30.
The third one is the original. It's two peices welded together (I think). I see them at one supplier for about $80 each.

I'll be welding mine on. The first one is out of the question because I don't like the looks. The second is priced right but I was wondering if it is strong enough to support the cab. One piece of formed sheet metal sounds weak. The third is okay but if I could get by with the $30 one instead of the $80 one it would be nice.
Has anyone out there used the $30 formed one piece cab mount? It seems to me that it would be weak and crush. The $30 mount is the one that I see in most catalogs. These cabs are heavy. I don't want to do the job twice. But no sense in spending more than I have to. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Are you talking about the humps on the firewall that have the cover on them to get at the bolts?

Yes. It fits against the firewall and under the floor. The $80 originals are doubled metal (I guess that's why they rusted so bad). The $30 ones are a stamped piece of sheet metal. But are they thick enough to support the cab?

I guess it depends on the thickness of the sheet metal. It's also gonna depend on the condition of the metal you're gonna weld it to.

Depending on the size of the rubber or poly bushings, the weight will be spread out over a 2" - 3" area. If the mount isn't much wider than that, it should be ok.

Got any pix of them?

Dennis Carpenter has what look to be the originals. They run $80 each. What gauge metal are the replacements you have now? I think I am going with the original style ones also.

Thanks 51 Stude. The replacements you have would seem to be less prone to rust. Looks like there is no way for mud and crud to get trapped like the originals. I like that idea. I was wondering if anyone has actually installed the aftermerket style and how well they held up. But then again a lot of suppliers carry those replacement style mounts so I guess they would hold up okay. Would like to find someone who has installed and used them, though.
