Hey fellow Dentsiders, I haven’t posted much here yet but I’ve been working on my 77 f100 a bit (Instagram @77dent) and have a question. There is no exhaust y-pipe made for my 302 truck anymore. There IS one for an 80-83 302 though. I’m thinking it probably fits. Anyone know for sure? Thanks for any help
I cant say for sure but I would look into the type of seals the 2 Y pipes use between the pipe and manifolds.
1 may use a doughnuts and the other they might be built into the manifolds?
The other is where the outlets dump out between the manifolds.
I would say look up part numbers but if the sealing types at the Y are different the part numbers would also be different.
I think you would need to find pictures of the manifolds and compare them to see if they dump in the same place.
Do you know if Dorman makes manifolds for both Y pipes?
If so and you have a nice parts person that can order a set of each you can then see in person how they differ.
OR
Get the Y pipe you can get and see what type of sealing it uses and maybe you could even try and fit it into place?
Sorry not much more help.
When you get it worked out let us know as I am sure it will help others.

I've been looking for a Y for my 78 for years. Just want bolt on at home and go. Haven't had the best experiences with local muffler shops in the area myself. I think on my 78 the right-side manifold exits straight back and the 80's style exits downward like 351M/400. If you have a local pick and pull you might be able to look at the differences.
Give Waldron exhaust a try. They sell complete exhaust systems but I'd give them a call and see if the Y pipe is available by itself. https://waldronexhaust.com/product/1965/
Waldronexhaust.com ftw. Thanks to mikeo0o0o0 for directing me to this company. They took all of my information and after a couple days found me an NOS y pipe with crossover . Not as cheap compared to other readily available y pipes for the other models but still reasonable. Should have it in a couple weeks. 😁
