I could easily sell my 2008 5th wheel for what I paid for it 8 years ago, but I'd have to fork out an additional 30k to get anything that would be a meaningful upgrade. This ones going to be with me for quite a while!

Isn't that the truth! It will pay to do the required maintenance and repairs rather than buy new.
I just wanted to update this thread. I just stopped by to talk with one of the dealers I used to do work for who buys and sells at "dealer only" auctions and also sells retail. He said dealers are fully restocked and prices at the auction have dropped dramatically with the restocking. He noted prices for some models were 50% of what they were a month or two ago, which means if you were planning on selling, you might be too late and if you plan on buying things should be improving rapidly (at least here in the Southeast United States). One thing he said I found interesting which may be a regional phenomenon is "they can't give toy haulers away".
I know the truck/auto market is crazy right now. Dealerships marking up MSRP 5-10K+. I don’t know about everywhere else, but here in Utah, camper and 5th wheels are a dime a dozen. The local classifieds is full of units for sale. As I’m looking for a bunkhouse 5er, there are several I’m interested in, some private party, some dealerships. I’m looking at used rigs. Checking NADA for values. Ide say 90% of the units I’ve looked at are priced WELL over NADA values. If a unit gets listed for what it books at, it’s gone within hours.
An example:
Crappy part is, they are selling at these prices! If someone is not paying cash, how are banks loaning money for something that is inflated beyond its actual value? I’ve waited a long time to upgrade our 1990 Terry, and now I’m afraid I won’t be able to get something. Rant is over. What are you guys seeking in you’re areas?
You can ask anything you want and if someones well dumb enough to buy your ahead and he's upside down as soon as he makes the deal. What is important is what they actually get for it. As a police officer people in the past asked they can sue, my standard answer, you can sue anyone anytime, if you can win is the question?
Bought our Reflection in Feb of 2020 at the RV show. Supposed to be a March/April delivery. Covid shut down the line and we didn’t get it til late June. What was nice though, instead of a 2020, we ended up with a 2021. Same floor plan for 2022 is $30K over what we paid for ours...😳
Two thoughts, first the price of something is what you have to pay for it. Books prices now are low, at other times they have been way high. Secondlly, one worry I have is these new prices will become the norm.
I don't think you will see a significant drop in pricing unless folks stop paying current prices, but our local dealers' lots are completely restocked.

Equity as soon as you bought, that's a good deal. Buy new and you loose as soon as you drive off the lot, I did no my 2017. It was exactly what we were looking for in the floor plan and we made more on the trade than we paid for it. Then came up grades, close to another 10K, disk brakes, washer/dryer/ MCD day night shades and all the little things that make it yours.
Our 2021 GD Solitude had a MSRP of $93k when we bought it in Dec 2020. Today the MSRP is $125,782.
Naturally we didn't pay 93k because back 15 months ago dealers were still knocking 15-25% off MSRP.
