I remember watching that series of videos and wondering when the new product announcement would happen. Then watched the comments as disgruntled viewers bemoaned the fact that he was trying to sell us something.
Well duh, of course he was! It's Banks Engineering and they make stuff to sell. That's his business and has been for almost-ever. Glad he's still putting some good ideas to paper and metal. And even more so that he went to great lengths to showcase the details.
Uh, and to implement a delay action until he could get them into production and in stock!

I was going to joke about that groove being a purposely modified super special oiling groove. Glad I didn't though, and cooler heads prevailed (yours) and you filled it in. Sounds like it was thin enough to become an eventual crack and at the very least an oil leak.
