Scored a rear spare tire carrier and go figure these latches are toast gonna try to extract them anyone ran into this? Got in behind taillight trying to soak em.
Yeah, nice hammer drive! I had to drill mine out with a pure carbide bit and finally able to push them in with an extractor (wouldn't back out).
Curious if you reinforced the fender around your spare tire carrier or not - or if you've heard of it. Mine is bent to lovely hell from usage since the late 70s. Eventually going to have to remove and ding patrol the fender where the carrier screws in.
Had success on passenger side by drilling and the using double barrel nut to turn out. Using factory mounts for carrier haven’t seen any damage but not sure how long it’s been off. When I bought this truck there was no carrier. Got it for 200 bucks from someone who was willing to devalue their truck. Stoked to have new tailgate striker latches
