I'm looking to replace the valve covers on my 1985 F-250 351W H.O. engine. And I like the look of the Scott Drake aluminum with the 351 logo on them. On eBay, they are about 175$. And it says it fits 69-73 Mustang. I was under the impression that all the 351, and 302's, and 289's, had the same valve covers? Am I wrong about that? Will they fit my truck engine? As for as clearance goes it should fit. The only thing that I can think that would not make it fit, is the valve train. Thanks!
The thing there are 3 351 motors 351M (also the 400M), 351C and what you should have 351W that is the same as the 289 / 302 / 351W motors.
So if it says it fits the W motors you should be good.

All the above are required to keep your engine running. Just make sure you have a plan and have the correct grommets and stuff to mount them. Some engines have the oil fill and the PCV built together. Some have the fresh air intake and the oil fill built together.
Also make sure these valve covers have good quality baffles under the ports. If they don't, I would not buy them no matter how good they look. Your engine will burn oil without good baffles in the covers.
