Cool Interview advice

Alright today is a big day for me...I have 2 interviews with the #1 & #2 home builders in the country. I am interviewing for intern positions with both companies.

Any of you working folks have any advice for me.....I know I should have posted this earlier.

Thanks a ton

Try not act to nervous. Be yourself, be confident. Knowledge and a personality that they can work with, is what they usually look for.
Good Luck!

Just be confident, well dressed, and polite. The interviewers are looking at you and assesing you even before your interview begins. If you make a good impression, they are more likely to hire you.

Don't inform the interviewer how "good" you are....

geez I hate that! every time i hire somebody that boasted about themselves, i was SORRY! now i just don't hire those people.

most of all, confidence!

good luck

be confident, but not too confident. Some people see this as cocky and that you would not make a good team player.

Good luck

Don't fart or pick your nose. But seriously, ask questions! Employers are impressed not only by what you know but how eager and willing you are to learn something new.

Thank y'all for the advice. My first interview got cancelled because he had to go back to his office for some reason. The second one is still on and it is the one that I am most interested in. I had my suit cleaned and everything dry cleaned so I will look sharp and hopefully I won't be to nervous. I will let y'all know what happens later on.

Remember one thing. We have all been in the seat that you will set in at one time or another. I think they, the interviewers know it is a stressfull time for you. Try to relax a little go with the flow good luck

Again thanks for the advice y'all I think the inteview went well. They seemed very interested in me and I think I showed that I was definatly interested in them. They said they would make the decisions on who they were going to hire within the next couple of weeks..then I told them that I would love to go out and see the job site when I was home (job is back home in VA) and then they got real happy so I think I am in...hopefully I am not being to optimistic but I have a good feeling.

Don't worry about it. Whereabouts in VA is the job site?

All the other advice is good. But, near the end of the interview, if you think the job is a good fit and you would like the job....

ASK for the job. This is one of the bigg goofs people who interview a job commit. They forget to ask for the job. It is amazing how many people forget this simple detail.

If you don't get the job right away, followup later, several times if needed.

Good Luck,

Jim Henderson
