Is there a way to determine easily what sensor is causing alarm to go off? You can't turn the alarm off unfortunately - only toggle between perimeter and all sensors. I'm sure you could turn it off in Forscan which I have - but ultimately need to get it fixed anyway! Any help/insight would be appreciated!
Usually when that happens it is either a bug in the cab or in some cases the hood ajar sensor. If you set it to perimeter only, does the alarm still go off?
My FordPAss app shows what sensor was triggered. I was having issues with the hood sensor so I hosed it down with contact cleaner and WD40, good so far... FYI - the hood sensor is up with the latch assembly
On my '17 F350 - the culprit was those round proximity sensors (in the overhead panel). It falsely alarmed many times, usually in the middle of the night.
My fix was to put little round stickers on top of those sensors ).
NEVER had the issue again.
Your neighborhood may discourage you from taking this action, but the alarm system doesn't enable unless the doors are locked. If you leave the doors unlocked... no alarm.
Turns out it was related to the frozen door handle issue/update. I hadn't had that done - and recently had 2 of my doors freeze to the point where they wouldn't close. Dealer took care of it under the recall/update program and its been good so far! 170K miles and they are still doing stuff for free - hard to beat that.
