Hey guys I have a set of AR-23 wheels 16x8 4.5" back spacing that I'm going to put on my 83 f150 4x4 (stock height no lift) in the spring. Just wondering if I can get away with running 285/57r16s without having to lift the truck. If I have to lift it I'll just go with 265s. If anyone has pics of their truck with 285s or 265s I would love to see them. Thanks, Joe. Again It's a half ton.
I had 31x10.50x15's on my stock f150(same as the 265's) and they rubbed a little with the stock rims, they did not rub with aftermarket 8 inch rims. But it was getting close in the back when hauling a load of firewood. If you do not haul anything heavy, you might get by with the 285's which are almost 33's. They do kill your power though, even the 31's did that noticeably.

Well it seems like the more I dig into it 265s are going to be the way to go. It just sounds like the 285s are going to be too big.
