Thanks all in advance.
For the belt, I would stick with Motorcraft. That said, I’ve also had a good history with continental.
For my 6.0, I went with a Motorcraft large case alternator, as they seem to be a bit more reliable than the smaller case ones.
I replaced my 6.8 with a Velocity alternator 220amp, all new , not rebuilt. It is a direct bolt in including the wires. Took me all of ten minutes to install I replaced my belt along with my tension pulley with Motorcraft parts, my first set lasted 18 years and we’re still in good shape so why change brands.
You didn't say what engine you have, and I don't know if the gassers use the same alternators as the diesels (the diesels have an 8 rib serp belt). But these are the folks I want to get an alternator from for my diesel Ex.
Depending on your location you might want to check and see what electrical repair shops are around. Back in the days when I did not value my hearing the amps I was using kept frying alternators. I think I went through 4 before I Took it to a shop and they rewound the alternator I had to a higher output for the same cost as a stock reman. Then no more problems. I want to say the alternator went from 120 amps to 150 amps output. Not a huge jump but enough to handle the load.
Not going to get into the legality of the CB and Amp however....
I have a 500 watt amplifier in my truck for my amateur radio gear and am running a stock alternator. Yes the battery cables have been upgraded and updated, and yes I have a secondary power distribution block under the dash for my radio gear. Runs fine and batteries are happy stock group 65 sealed lead acid.
If you feel you need more power are you keeping the key down constantly?? Unless you are key down constantly and your amplifier is rated for such actions you should not be drawing that much current to really need much more than stock. What you likely need more of is clean good power with good connections than more alternator.
