You do realize, John, the Dodge/Fargo thing is akin to our Ford and Mercury trucks, badge engineered so Chrysler Plymouth dealers in Canada had a truck to sell, but otherwise identical, right?
Not only was the video interesting but the side bar conversations on this post are informative. Never knew the distinction between Dodge of US & Canada's Fargo. Did Mexico do the same?
Thank you, Abe, for posting Mel's story. I just got off the phone with Mel and Carrie and they're excited about this thread. Mel did design and create the mirror mounts along with dozens of other things on Ol' Blue but I'll let him field some of your questions once Carrie gets him signed up on FTE. I think you'll really enjoy chatting with him - he's a great guy. As for my old truck, it's a 1962 Dodge D100 Town Panel named Remy, short for Rembrandt. I bought it shortly after realizing that my legs wouldn't fit in Ol' Blue. It's a lot of fun and a great billboard for my logo. I am working on the next episode of RBR about a 1966 Ford F-100 named Elmer and the 14 year old boy who found him in Kentucky. It's a very powerful story. Appreciate you guys tuning in!

Eric, I didn't know you were a member of FTE. Welcome!
It is nice that Mel's daughter is getting him hooked up with us. There is a separate forum for 57 to 60 trucks but he is welcome to our forum, the 48-56 forum. We are a bunch of good guys and we like old trucks of any vintage and most of us even appreciate old Dodge panel trucks! That is a nice looking panel.
Looking forward to more old truck stories. A lot of us here including myself have family heirloom trucks.
I really appreciate what you're doing, telling old truck stories. As with many of the folks on FTE to hear the story is as much about the truck as what's been done to it. I'd be interested to know how you hear about your stories and how you go about getting them to the public. What a great idea & Im sure a rewarding one too.
To answer BJ's question, most of the stories I run across come from people I meet at car shows or on the road. If I see a classic, I pull over to chat. Just filmed in Kentucky and California for what will probably be one of the most powerful stories I'll ever encounter. Fourteen year old boy named Wyatt bought a 1966 Ford F-100 this past summer and named it Elmer T. Lee after the bourbon bottle/radiator overflow he discovered under the hood. In September, Wyatt passed away in a surfing accident. I'm working with his wonderful family to tell his story. Here's an article about Wyatt and Elmer https://www.facebook.com/groups/2502...0772749249358/
Hi BJ, I'm self-funding production of the series currently but will be pursuing sponsorship opportunities once I earn the viewership numbers that attract sponsors. So grateful that you guys are subscribing and following. By the way, BJ, I moved to Colorado from St. Peters MO and passed Wentzville many times on my way to Calwood Salvage. Good to hear from you

I'll have to go check it out sometime. I'm a transplant from Illinois. Lived in St Charles for 10 years and just moved to Wentzville a couple of years ago.
