Is there a way to make the voice button on the steering wheel activate Google Assistant when Android Auto is running?
My Wifes 2020 Explorer with Sync 3 does this automatically.

I also do not need the built in Nav when I am using Android Auto and have Google Maps or Waze up.

 

Not sure about android auto, but with Siri you have to long press the voice button to activate her. I'd try holding it down longer and see what happens. If I short press, it activates the ford system.

 

I will give this a shot.

 

There is a list of key words to use when activating voice command, I have not payed any attention to whether there is a command for google assistant, but you might look into that.

 

I looked at those but did not see one. I can still say OK Google and my phone will pick it up. But I like the option of just hitting the button.

 

Long press the button works for Android Auto, too.
