Tuning ,Help!!

I'm about to swap a 99 5.4 into a 97 f150 4.6 truck, now I've read you can use the 4.6 harness to run the 5.4 motor with a few modifications one of them being a tune on your PCM can I buy a programmer tuner with pre loaded tunes on it and just use those tunes to run the 5.4 I'm a little confused cuz I don't know any tuners or even if there are any around my house

Are you thinking to just drop the '99 5.4 into the '97 4.6 chassis? If so chances are very good the two different wiring harnesses are NOT compatible.

Ford is known to change things like wiring harness pin-outs from year-to-year and even model-to-model. I don't know of any PCM tuner that can overcome such things.

Hmm interesting I've read other forms that said it will run off 4.6 harness just have to address a few sensors like knock sensor and relocating IAC sensor impossibly ECT sensor, and then have a tune put on it to accommodate the 5.4 displacement

You should inquire further on those other forums where you found that info. If they said it can be done, they should be able to guide you as well.
