I have an '02 Supercrew and I haven't had any problems with it until today. As I was coming home from work my engine began to sputter when accelerating from 40-50 mph. It doesn't seem to happen when I give it a lot of gas or if i accelerate slowly. Only seems to happen when I am accelerating and the rpm are around 2000-2300. I was planning on taking my truck in tomorrow for an oil change. What else should I tell them to look at? Thank you for any help you can give me.
I have about 38,000 miles on it right now. I took it in today but they weren't able to look at it. They said they were going to look at it first thing in the morning. Any ideas on what they might tell me?
I'd hazard a guess you have a bad spark plug or coil or possibly the torque convertor shudders and the transmission fluid should be changed to cure that.
I took my truck in and they said the #7 Spark plug and coil had gone bad. Both were changed and that seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for the help.
