So had an oil change at local (not big chain) shop, been there a few times. When they were done, I was told check engine light was on when I got there, it was not. They offered to check codes for me, I said no went home and did it myself. Got MAF sensor and wheel speed sensor - trac codes. So I checked under the hood, MAF sensor was unplugged! Plugged it in reset codes been fine since.
I called manager said he would talk to the crew, gave me half off on my next oil change. At least they are making an effort.
My question is why would I get a wheel sensor code for an unplugged mass air flow sensor? Were they trying to scam me? They are supposed to do a check of the air filter etc. So it's possible they just forgot to plug the sensor in, but the wheel sensor?
Any thoughts should I check anything? No codes since. Thanks
I believe the place changed hands a while ago. I've had at least a dozen oil changes there over the years. I guess you never know. Trying to stay away from dealers, never trusted them either. Guess I'll look for another local shop and hope for the best.

Dealers are local shops just like the independents that just tried to jack your wallet. No need to throw a mistrust blanket over them all. Find one that is honest in any shop, mom-n-pop or dealer (good luck) and stick with them.
The main difference is dealer shops have all the special tools applicable to your vehicle where mom-n-pop most likely won't and will have to improvise typically charging more for added time due to that fact and lack of expertise.
With that said, and not to get off an a tangent too far, many local shops are run by or have employed ex dealership techs due to Fords thrifty way in paying tech's to do warranty repair, so many of them (my self included), will find greener pasture. We have families to feed and mortgages to pay just like anyone else.
