Question Factory Flex Fan
My 79 F-150 with a 302 appears to have a flex fan from the factory. It has Ford stamped right on it. I've had poor results with aftermarket flex fans in the past, but this one appears to be all steel. Are these factory fans any good or would a conventional fan/fan clutch setup be better? I do know that it came with a "super cooling package" if that helps.

EEK! Weren't those Ford factory flex fans the ones that would suddenly let go, impaling a person's chest with a blade? This deadly problem was quite a few years ago... and so was 1979!

Greeeaaat. I've been hovering over that fan for the past couple of days getting the engine adjusted.

Anybody else have an opinion or experience with the different setups available on these trucks?
