I have a 2019 f150 with the 5.0 coyote. What's weird is when I accelerate in sport mode it backfires. If I get on it hard, I have no issues, but if I'm only on it halfway or so, it's horrible. I read the thread about the long stroke and short stroke when you let off the accelerator, but that's not my issue. I have yet to take it to the dealer as it only has 15,000 miles on it. Lord knows I'll be told it's normal. Any ideas? thanks

ROF, "it's normal", must be the first thing they learn in service school.
Is it a backfire or an exhaust crackle? A backfire sounds like a 12 ga shotgun blast. 5.0s do the exhaust crackle quite a but. Mustangs with aftermarket exhaust are bad about it, I hate the way they sound.
