Winch option 2022
I see an option for a winch..it says for “tremor” however it lets you add it to any 7.3 or 6.7 equipped truck…
Is this possible…? I searched around and couldn’t find this explained..
It’s $3000 which is a lot… but considering the cost of a aftermarket mount or bumper, 12,000 warn, an additional battery (which appears to be included on 7.3)..even if you install it yourself that would probably be close. Plus it’s packaged nicely.

With x-plan it is about a $2700 option. Which you get to finance, my credit union gave me a 0.75% APR so it was a no brainer. Could have bought a badlands winch and some brackets and installed myself for about $1000 bucks probably.
There are threads on here about dealers trying to say winch issues are not covered by warranty. Dont know the final outcome on those but it is worrying.
It is a dealer installed item, so the install is up to who they put on the job.
My dealer installed it pretty crappily. And reinstalled the bumper all messed up. And didnt tighten the airbox hose clamps after.
I loosened all bolts and used a scissor jack to hold winch as high as possible while I retightened all the bolts. I then took a ruler and drove myself nuts getting the bumper as high and as even as possible with two scissor jacks allowing me to dial in the fit.
The overlap between the airbox flange and its tube is pretty substantial and the fit is pretty tight. Looked inside tube and it didnt seem to have any dust or water in it in the couple hundred miles it was loose before I noticed during a headlight bulb swap.
If your are handy, I would explore getting a credit and installing it yourself.

4800 Lb springs in front. Whatever they give you when you order an F-250 with 7.3L and 4.30 gears in rear. I know it has a DANA M275 axle in back, which I regret cause they do not make a TrueTrac posi for them. Blocks in back are 2”, so I could teverse level it easy, but I dont wanna squat when I load my quad and gear up in it.
It is already gravy at that rate but with this hyper inflation it is more then free money to an extent. The external cost of which we are seeing across this country with empty shelves, etc.

Looks good. I’m more than a little disappointed that they lowered the 20 and up. My 18 has snowplow front springs and sits high. Yours makes me feel a little better.
I dont wanna do that cuz spare wont fit after that, and you cant find 37s narrow enough to run snow chains. Some day I will get Method wheels and run 37s except for the winter.
They just build bodies different now. I have an ‘86 K5 Blazer. Its is stock height to my knowledge, with 31s. Its rockers are higher then my F-250, its roof is lower, and the wheel looks bigger in proportion.
