splined ball joints
I started the ball joint replacement process and just pressed out the old joints. Turns out they were replaced before with a splined joint. The joints I purchased are motorcraft balljoints which are not splined. Can I just press the non spline OEM joints in even though they previously had aftermarket splined joints in them?

I certainly wouldn’t. Those splined joints deform the knuckle material, putting a smooth joint back in there would result in significantly less than factory grip holding the new joints in, they’d probably end up shifting or wobbling around in the hole while driving.
You should really replace the knuckle with one that hasn’t had a splined joint forced into it.
