2004 f250 superduty 104k mileage. rough idle and then it does spit some black smoke when starting and continues to have black smoke but then the oil temp gauge is reading low. i need some help for sure.

 

Is this a 6.0L Power Stroke engine?

 

yes its a powerstroke diesel engine. 6.0liter turbo diesel.

 

Does it run better after it's warmed up? IF the glow plug system is not working correctly it will idle rough when you first started it.

 

Yes it always runs fine after warming it up in the mornings. its never had an issue after warming it up, its just the coolant reservoir was completely empty and now it blowing smoke out the exhaust, its a mix of whiteish black smoke. filled it up with coolant on sunday and let it run and get up to temp and then drove it around the block. still was blowing some smoke this morning after warmed up.
