I went to the Archoil website. They indeed claim the fuel additive cleans turbo deposits.
Probably only works on diesels that have the regeneration process that injects diesel fuel during the exhaust stroke is the only way I can see this additive working. Having said that the only benefits for the 6.0PSD would be it could clean the injector tips.
Yes, you can go the Archoil website and get more detailed info and a short video showing before and after results. I am not a big believer in "snake oil" mirical cure additives for any vehicle, but this product did work for me. Only issue I had was directions state to add 12oz bottle to 40 gallons of fuel. Who has a 40 gal tank? F 250 is 29 gal. I put 6 oz in and put what I felt was about 20 gallons, ran that to almost empty, added remaining 6 oz and put in what I thought would take it to 20 gallons for the second shot. After the first 20, truck was running the way it should, no bark, loss of power etc.
Cleaning the turbo with the Archoil made me think of the pictures of Jack's dirty exhaust valves. If this stuff works could it help the exhaust valve buildup on un-deleted engines?
Not sure about that, but you could go to the Archoil website and they have a few ways you can contact them and they should be able to answer your question about the product working on exhaust valve deposits. Again, this product worked for me in my situation, I can't answer if it works for all turbo related problems as every situation is different.
Actually it’s 44gal according to Ford…even though I’ve put in 47 when it’s been REALLY close to empty…
I’m looking forward to checking it out, will post if I notice any differences…as long as I remember to.
What model do you have that Ford says it has a 44 gallon tank?
I've got a 2005 F-350 and 2005 F-250 (both crew cab 4x4 models with long beds) and I don't think I've been able to put more than 38 or 39 gallons in and that's even when they start to get down to the super low amount and start slowing down every 3 seconds. And when I fill up, I wait 5 to 10 seconds to keep filling that extra 2 or 3 or 4 gallons until it literally comes to the top and evens out and I can't fill any more so it takes me 3 or 4 minutes to fill my tank sometimes. I don't always wait that long and sometimes just do a couple extra gallons but I don't think I've ever been able to get a full 40 gallons in my tanks. Do you have a chassis cab model or something else?
My truck gets a nice 150 miles per week towing at minimum 7500 lbs, sometimes 16,000lbs, but that all happens on one day of the week. Otherwise, I drive it to work (1.3 mile drive, lol) or to the store. And it is sitting all winter, so hopefully nothing rusts up, but I have started it up twice and drove it around the yard. I don't want road salt on it; its not rusted at all.
