2012 250 transmission issues
I’m hoping that someone has some ideas! This transmission is skipping around the gears. 5th to 2nd to 4th and so on. It will stop for several weeks and then do it again. No codes are stored and any codes I get the dealer says don’t apply. The dealer has been unable to replicate the problem even though they have had it several times for several weeks at a time and I try to get different technicians to take it home and drive it. It isn’t specific to temperature, driving style, hauling or anything. It seems electronic and the gear indicators flash when they skip. Even reverse will skip around. If the park indicator is not illuminated when the engine is turned off the engine will not restart since it thinks you are not in park. After much begging the dealer did reboot the tcm and one of the old timers went through it looking for any wiring issues like breaks or rodent damage. This yielded nothing and the dealer said they couldn’t help. Just what you want to hear from the dealer! I own six v10 super duty’s and this is my first 6.2 and I adore it. I know that there can only be a certain number of parts at play but the dealer refuses to replace anything until a code is confirmed or a technical bulletin is issued. I’ve invested about 30k into it and I can’t trust it to drive across town much less work. Also no independent mechanics want to mess with it since only the dealer can reprogram it. I’m dying here!
150k, mechanically strong transmission which makes me think electronic. going to try another dealer this week and see what they say. So far the other service departments have said that is standard procedure for Ford service. They say it keeps them from being accused of throwing parts at a problem but I’m ready to
I’ll definitely check with Ashe, they are pretty close. Spending a lot on towing nowadays so close is goo

So I had it towed to another Ford dealer and had fresh codes and a video. After four days they called to let me know it was transmission. Which I told them. They told me they would not charge me for the diagnosis but they did not have anyone it was certified to work on a transmission. Now I’m supposed to go back and pick it up and take it somewhere else! Getting a little frustrated here
