I’m looking to replace the rear springs on my truck, 2000 f350, with a set of 08 length springs, I have the conversion bracket from PMF already. Before I put the flatbed there was about 1” of rake based off the axle center to fender lip measurements, it sits slightly lower since the flatbed is heavier but not much lower. I’m looking to get a bit more lift so when I put on slightly taller tires there is plenty of clearance still, even if I step all the way out to a set of 37s. The 2 companies I’ve talked with so far sadly are less than helpful figuring out what components will accomplish what I’m after so asking for input here.
I think somewhere between a 3.5” and 4.5” rear lift spring, that gets rid of the block, would put me at the height I’m looking for. Currently I’m 10” from the axle tube to the base of my bump stop, 7.75 from the tube to the lowest point of the bump stop. Current scaled rear axle weight is 3900lbs roughly. I’m planning on helper bags since I’m hoping to get springs built to the weight of the current setup for a softer ride but would need to keep the truck close to level when towing.
Anyone with a 3.5” to 4.5” lift have the measurements or could measure? Would be greatly appreciated so I could get the springs ordered and get a smoother ride.
Don't remove the block unless you plan to extend the bump stop 3 or 4". The block is what actually contacts the bump stop, not the axle. How big is your block now? Ready lift makes angled 5" blocks to correct the driveshaft angle after the lift. Never stack blocks, that's a dodge boys toys thing. Stengl Bros has slightly higher weight capacity leafs with 3" theoretical lift and 1" additional real spring stack.
My current block is a homemade 1” since when I installed my current leafs the stock block cause the truck to look ridiculous. Ive never come close to needing the bump stop in the 3-4 years it’s been this way even with a 12k trailer hooked to it. The leafs I’m looking at are a set of deavers designed to elimate the block and will most likely buy the PMF top plate with integrated bump stop tab if the air bags with bumper internally aren’t good enough.
I don’t want the higher capacity leafs, they’re 4400lbs spec ones currently, I’m looking for a set of deavers designed for my weight and lift height but neither deaver nor PMF seems capable of figuring out the height needed.
Your post is a confusing word salad of what you have vrs what you want as it seems like you switch back and forth between the 2 without indicating which one you are talking about.
if i may ask, Why are you switching to 08 length springs before you have a spring solution ?
honestly I can’t figure out what you are trying to accomplish.
