From the deals I have seen people posting here, I would be tempted to trade my '21 on a '22. Only problem is, I gave up on the '21 I ordered in February last year and picked up one at a local dealer at the first of June. The truck I ordered didn't hit the lot until September. I don't want to risk that again so will go with the bird in the hand I guess.
been to a few dealerships, and theyre saying/showing 8 weeks. My trucks are stripped down/essentials only. I can stand on my head for that long, for those prices.
Ditto. I have a 2016 platinum 250 6.2 and got offered what I paid for it over 6 years ago. Ordered a 22 lariat 350 7.3 since we now have a 5th wheel. REALLY hard to pass on that upgrade
I got 5k more than msrp on the jeep i traded which ended up being 12k over what I paid (wranglers at peterson jeep in Idaho are/were 8% below invoice no haggle). And I get to keep it with 1,000 miles /month til the truck gets here. Hopefully this superduty doesn’t have weird leaks, noises and errors like the jeep.
just traded in to ford dealership 2019 f250 6.2 gas for $6k more then I paid for it. Ordered new 7.3 f350 and still came out $4k in the green. Insane.
Gotta love it. As I said previously I couldn't afford NOT to get a new truck. I didn't do as well as you, but still got $2600 more than I paid for the trade in and got X Plan on the new truck to boot.
Moved from a 250 to a 350, dropped the payment substantially as well as dropping months off the loan.
Sold my 2020 7.3 in sept for $4k over what I paid and ordered a new 2022 diesel with some options I wanted but didn’t have on the previous truck. I’m still waiting on the truck but the new upgraded truck was only $11k more for the diesel and a slew of options and 2 years newer. I do have to pay the taxes which add another $2k.
I was able to sell the wife (on the idea) as well.
I bought my 2012 in 2013 with 25K on it. I sold it last month with 77K in very nice condition for more than I paid for it in 2013. Mind boggling to think about.

wish the dealers I’ve talked to would do that. The ones I’ve talked to are oh eww I don’t want to be in that truck for 40k. But had trucks with less option last same or more miles listed for 46-48.

That's why it pays to shop around. My first trade in offer was $42k. Carvana was super low ball at $39k! Second Ford store it increased to $50k. Finally settled at the third local place for $55k, a 13 thousand dollar difference from the first dealer.
