I bought a used 2011 XL work truck, the steering wheel buttons do not function and the grip is worn down to bare metal at the top of the wheel.
I bought a lariat steering wheel from a junkyard that I would like to install.
I’m wondering if I need the SCCM from the donor truck as well, or if it is even possible to get the steering wheel controls from the lariat to properly function in a XL.
I would really like to get the cruise control and volume controls to work.
I plan on installing an aftermarket stereo with a steering wheel control module.
I think you are getting into a mess. But if you have the patience and dealer help if you need it, then dive in. Here's a thread I found that talks about it a little bit. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...iper-prob.html
