My daughter's '04 f150 SCAB 4x4 gave her a P0750 code about a week ago. I cleaned the contacts on the trans position sensor and deleted the code. Ran and shifted fine until today. She came home for lunch and the truck started rolling backward after she put it into park. The shifter is in the park position, and I really couldn't get the truck to move when I rocked it, but I could see her wet tire marks on the driveway where it had rolled about 4-5 feet. Now the truck won't start. Will a faulty sensor cause this? Bad linkage? I haven't yet crawled underneath to see if the linkage is shifting when the shifter is moved. Thanks.
This problem might be related to the shift tube mechanism and detent located inside the steering column. It could also be an issue with the shift cable running from the steering column to the transmission.
The DTC does refer to Shift Solenoid A Malfunction---I'm not overly familiar with how that would cause or create your issue so I might be completely wrong here.

Good luck with sorting this out!
thanks for the reply. I got underneath yesterday with my wife inside. Had her move the shifter and found the cable is toast. Dealer had one in stock and cheaper than Autozone. I'll be replacing it today.
