Hey guys, I haven't gotten on here too much unless I've had a problem with my truck so I apologize if my thread isn't where it should be. Anyways, I have a 2002 F250 4x4 crew with only and I say only 153k miles on it. The kicker is the 4r100 transmission that is in it wont shift past 2nd gear anymore and I need a new transmission. I've read a lot on the forums and noticed a lot of people have trouble out of their 4r100. I'd like to keep this truck for at least another few years so I need a replacement that'll last at least that long. I don't necessarily want to go all out a modded-out transmission because the truck is mostly stock besides an intake and exhaust. I found a rebuilt 4r100 for only like 2100 bucks here, https://reman-transmission.com/trans...es/?code=4R100. Does anyone know if they do good rebuild work? A local transmission shop near me quoted m3 3500 for a rebuild and that seems high especially when I can get a fully rebuilt one sent to me or a shop.. My question is, does anybody have experience with those guys or have experience with another online transmission builder with a good rep?
Could just be the solenoid pack keeping it from shifting to 3rd and 4th. Only use a Ford solenoid, I learned the hard way. Now I know that aftermarket solenoids don't last and that the solenoid can prevent the 2-3 upshift
