Loaner bronco!
Well I had to take my superduty in for a recall so I inquired about the possibility of test driving a bronco overnight (or until my truck is finished). It’s a pretty basic vehicle no power or heated seats. It’s just the 4 banger but seems to have decent pickup from a stop. Highway speeds lol the vehicle doesn’t seem comfortable with. Seems it’s suited to 60mph or less. It’s bigger than I thought they were. The ride is actually pretty nice(but do remember I daily drive a superduty so not much rides more harsh than that). The color is a dark blue that of course when doing the online build is not an option for the ‘22MY. I’ll drive the heck out if it tomorrow to get a better feel for it. So far I like it overall. The extensive use of hard plastic is a bit overwhelming but I get it if you have the top off and inside getting wet it needs to be easy to clean. Disappointed there is no carpet delete option on the lower trim levels.
what I mean by that is it never shifts past 8th gear. If you let off the gas it slows down really fast. Compared to my F250 that will coast.
this particular bronco the dealer out the lift and 35” tires on but only has the 3.73 gearing. Seems it’s under geared for the Highway needs a lot of pedal to keep speed. Cruise seems to hold it fine.
I don’t see this being a problem with stock tires or the Sasquatch packages that are geared for the tires.
tried it I just don’t think it had enough power/gearing. plus after the fact when I talked to the GM of the dealership they did not reprogram for the larger tires that may have effected it. The one I bought will shift out but it’s a v6 with the standard size tires and a lower gear ratio. 🤷♂️ Hearing of issues with the v6 tho Donnie I’m nervous about it. Seems the 2.3 is a fairly solid motor the 2.7 seems to have a few issues in this variation.
