Trailer TPMS Torque

I bought the customer placed trailer camera and TPMS with my new 2022 F350....there wasn't a manual included and I'm getting around to installing things.

What is the torque specs on the TPMS nut for the trailer TPMS sensors? (I change my own tires) I believe the part is HC3Z-1A189-D,

Thanks!

Good question. I never thought about it and my tire shop didn't either. Here's what I could find.

Nut Torque: -- Nm <-- I think this is the number you're looking for, but it's not provided.
Screw Torque: 11.5 in-lbs (1.3 Nm) Nm
Valve Core Torque: 3.5 in-lbs (0.4 Nm) Nm

Never EVER seen anyone use a torque wrench to install the valve stem nut, TPMS or not, or the screw that holds the sensor to the stem.

Where did you find it? I looked in the Ford Service Manual and came up empty.

It's off topic, but while looking for TPMS information, I did see that Ford has instructions to use motor oil on the wheel studs for a DRW (but not for SRW). Strange.

Apply 2 to 3 drops of the specified motor oil to a clean shop towel. Using the shop towel, apply the oil to the wheel stud threads. Wipe off any excess oil from the wheel stud threads.
Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil / XO-5W20-QFS (WSSM2C945-A)
Above that paragraph is a NOTE that is probably rather important.
Do not allow oil to build up in the wheel stud threads. Only use 2 to 3 drops of oil per wheel hub.
Bold emphasis provided by me.

I did know about this and it applies to both SRW and DRW.
On all 2-piece flat wheel nuts, apply one drop of motor oil between the flat washer and the nut. If corrosion exists, or the integral 2-piece swiveling wheel nut does not rotate freely, install new swiveling wheel nuts as necessary.
Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil / XO-5W20-QFS (WSS-M2C945- A)

I have the instructions that came with my kit. On Page 13, Step 28 it says:

Position the new valve stem and TPMS sensor. Install the washer and nut. Tighten the nut to 70.8 lb-in. (8.0Nm)

Ford Document # SKHC3J-1A515-AB

I tried to upload it to this post but the file is too large according to the forum software. PM me if you want me to email it to you.

EDIT - I converted the document to Word format. It is much smaller but you do lose the ability to zoom in as clearly as the PDF.

....and not every shop uses a torque wrench for lug nuts

There are special torque limiting screwdrivers just for TPMS screws. As for the nuts, on my Honda they use a special crush nut that must be tightened to a particular value and the nuts can not be reused. I suppose it's less critical on valve stems that use normal rubber gaskets. Anyways here is a link to a whole range of specific tpms install tools from Dill.
