I have a 95 f150 2wd 5.0 xl and I just swapped the rear end yesterday. I went from a 3:08 gear ratio to a 3:23 gear ratio. Now it seems to be messing with the transmission, and the trans never had issues before. Also the check engine light turns on when accelerating and turns off when I reach my desired speed. I've never had this issue before, even when I regeared my bronco to 4.11 gears it never messed with the trans. Any advice is appreciated.

If you have the lcd odometer, there's a procedure to program it to correct for the gear change that affects the transmission shifting as well. It's been 20 years since I did it for a customer and I had the shop manual to go by so I can't tell you how to do it except to say it is doable and nothing needs to be purchased. There may be after market solutions available at a cost but we're talking about a now antique truck so I wouldn't know who you would contact to that end.
