35" tire question

35" tire question

I am looking at BFG KO2 in both of these sizes. Is there an advantage to one over the other?

LT295/65R20
or
35X12.5R20LT

The 295s are a bit narrower and a bit taller than the 35s. The max load on the 295s is also quite a bit higher, 4,080 vs 3,195.

You may want to look up the weight on each size. I don't know about the BF's, but I was surprised to see that some tires are considerably heavier in sizes that aren't that far apart.

The 295 may cut through snow a little bit better. Both would probably do pretty darn good being 3 peak snow flake rated

BFG's get slick halfway through their life. They were fine on our toyota but i cant imagine on my truck with 900lb of tq or whatever it is.

BFG's run a bit small fyi.

I went with the KO2s in 295/65 20 for the higher load rating. Been great in the Colorado snow so far.

Ordered 295/65R20 KO2's (I've probably had 10 pairs of these, in different sizes over the years.), went in to get them installed and they were labeled wrong, they were actually 18" tires instead of 20". Tire shop computer said that they were back ordered 90 days, so that wouldn't work. They only thing I could find is this Hankook Tires Dynapro XT | Light Truck Tires | Hankook USA (hankooktire.com), they are snow flaked and a bit more aggressive than the KO's. So far so good.
