I removed the lift off of my 2004 F250. I am in need of a factory trac-bar bracket. I am currently at a junkyard and there is a 99 f250 here with a build date of 02/99. The bracket looks similar to what I think the 04 should look like from memory but I wanted to get a second opinion before I wasted my time pulling it. Is this the right bracket or will I need one from 2000 and up?
I messaged a friend of mine who is a parts manager at a Ford dealership. I had him look up the part number for the vin of the truck in the junkyard and also the same part for the vin of my truck. He came back with two different part numbers that were not identical (Yc3z3a093ab 2004, F81z3a093aa 1999). He also informed me that they are both obsolete through Ford and he could not get his hands on any. Later that day I was able to track (pun intended 😄 another one down at another yard, this one didn’t allow you to pull parts yourself. After taxes out the door cost was about $57. I could not tell a difference in the two brackets other than the hole where the bolt that holds the bar goes is significantly larger on the 04 style bracket. The trac-bar itself however was way wimpier on the 99 model, looked like a toothpick compared to my 04.
