Thanks, I try to help. Iam still learning from the others before me.
I have been going to do the 3G upgrade, just too many other things get first priority.
Have owned this 86 7.5 years and on the 3rd G1 Alternator, this present one has
run 4 years and 70K miles.
Last time I changed it out, got it from O`Reilly`s, and working with the MGR, went
through 3 to find one w/o dry bearings, right out of the box.
Right after I changed it, found one at PNP in a 6.9 that was just replaced, wasn`t
even dusty was so new . Another G1.
So you never know what you will find in the yards poking around, wish it was a G3.
