Simple question of low importance, but it could save me a few hundred possibly. I have a bed mat for my longbed '16 F150 that I was considering throwing in an '22 F350 when it arrives. How different are the floors of the beds between the two vehicles, anyone have any idea?
Dee Zee and Husky make pretty inexpensive, nice bed mats for our trucks. Check 'em out on Amazon. But first you might see if you can modify the F-150 mat.
Well the F150 bed is 3" shorter to begin with, and the wheelbase is 3" shorter providing you got the same cab configuration so i would assume the wheel wells are also out of place? i would think it wont fit to well.
One thing to keep in mind is all the ford points you get with a new purchase, i used mine for the rubber mat and the tailgate protector that comes with a bed liner and i still have a good chunk of points left for some other accessories. I do my own maintenance so using the points for oil changes, ETC wouldn't do me any good. I can get filters, oil and what not cheaper from other places but the oem bed mat seemed close to other makes for price so i just used the ford points and got the ford mat and tailgate protector.
It'll probably work with some trimming and modifications. The SD bed is just over 8ft, like 8' 1" so you can close the tailgate on a 4x8 sheet of plywood.
I have a Westin bed mat made of recycled materials. A box cutter won't cut it. literally. You'll need a jig-saw.
It won't look all that great but you'll save some money.

I had a bedrug bedmat that I had in my F350 short bed and put it in my F150 long bed. It dropped in ok. Not perfect but ok.
