IVE TAKEN APART POSI UNITS B4. MY QUESTION IS IF YOU HAVE A 28 SPLINE CARRIER,CAN YOU PUT 31 SPLINE SPIDER GEARS IN IT. OR IS THE DIFERENCE MORE THAN JUST IN THE INSIDE DIAMETER OF THE SPIDER GEAR. JUST WONDERING BECAUSE I WANT A POSI UNIT AND THE ONLY ONES YOU CAN FIND ARE OUT OF MUSTANGS.

 

I take it's for the 94 in ya sig? I have no clue why ya can't find a LS for the 31 spline 8.8? I find see em on any 4x4 part sites i go to, I was searching Ebay the other day and i saw 5 or 6 there for a 31 spline 8.8.

 

LET ME REPHRASE THAT. YAH THERE 31S OUT THERE BUT IF I CAN GET ONE FROM A MUSTANG FOR A HECK OF ALOT CHEAPER AND THROW THE 31 SPIDERS IN IT. THE SPIDER GEARS ARENT THAT MUCH. I HAVE ALOT OF BUDDIES AS WELL AS MYSELF WITH MUSTANGS.

Won't fit. There are significant dimensional differences between the two carriers. The ring and pinion are about the only parts thar interchange.
